Her Story
LaRissa Paras wrote her first short story in elementary school on her mom's typewriter. Later, in her education career, she rediscovered writing through her mentorship program, The Lotus Project. She has self published the program's curriculum and it has been shared nation wide. She has been a contributor to The Daily News and was featured in SnowDay Magazine. And it was through her contribution to the book, Rise: In Search of Empowerment, that she connected with women from all over the globe and became inspired to write her own book. Here's the Thing: A Love Letter of Life Lessons is available now!
Here's the Thing... It's here!

"Having compassion for yourself is like treating yourself the way you would treat a good friend. You would never expect perfection from her. You would never call her names. You would never belittle her dreams. You would encourage her. You would remind her of all of her beautiful qualities. You would thank her for all she does for you. You would shut down that shitty negative talk she says about being dumb, out of shape, and unsure. You would help her find some positive affirmations to repeat daily; you would help her make a list of things she does well and likes about herself. You would help her generate a list of gratitudes. You’d help her set goals that look to her future dreams. You would be an excellent friend to her."
